Our Management Team

Markus Straub

Founder & President Director

Markus Straub moved to Indonesia from Germany for a contract with SAP, but after the contract ended, he chose to stay, drawn to the country’s potential and opportunities. With experience as an independent SAP consultant, Markus recognized the growing demand for sustainable energy in Indonesia.

In 2013, Markus founded Axerna as a local partner for Global Hydro Energy GmbH. Combining his deep market knowledge and a skilled team, he expanded Axerna’s focus into hydropower. Over the years, the company has successfully developed and managed its own projects, becoming a key player in Indonesia’s renewable energy sector.

Having spent more time in Indonesia than in Germany, Markus is now a recognized leader in the hydropower industry. His expertise in local market dynamics, along with a strong track record in hydropower, positions Axerna as a forward-thinking company capable of driving sustainable growth and shaping the future of Indonesia’s energy landscape.
